New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on October 25 praised the work done under the NDA government towards reviving the cultural heritage of Bharat and Bihar.

Addressing a public gathering at Bihar’s Nalanda, Shah while highlighting the glorious heritage of the town said that this is a historic land where once greats like King Bimbisar and Bhagwan Gautam Budhha roamed around. He mentioned that the 24th Tirthinkar Bhagwan Mahaveer also attained Nirvana here.

The Home Minister underscored that it was here that Kumaragupta build the world famous Nalanda University which was eventually destroyed by Bakhtiyar Khilji after 800 years of its existence.

Shah stressed that when Bakhtiyar torched the Nalanda University, the books kept in library was keep burning for six months.

“When Bakhtiyar Khilji torched the university, smoke out of the burning books of library was coming out for six months,” said Shah. He added that Khilji had done a work of devastation.

Lauding the efforts of the NDA government in reviving the cultural heritage of Bihar, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has restored the glory of Nalanda by erecting the Nalanda University.

Shah emphasized that hundreds of Bakhtiyar Khilji would not be able to touch the Nalanda University under the NDA rule.

“People of Bihar, even hundred Bakhtiyar Khiljis would not be able to touch the Nalanda University under the rule of NDA,” said Shah.

He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided both development and heritage. ‘Vikas bhi aur Viarasat bhi,’ said the Union Home Minister while promising to start a new era of Artificial Intelligence [AI] and data in Bihar.

“In Bihar we will also set up many large factories, agro processing industry, which will also increase farmer’s income alongside leading to industrial development,” he said.

Shah also launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties alleging that those who do politics of families run the government for their son and daughters while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar run the government for the poor people of Bihar.

The Union Home Minister also praised both PM and Bihar CM for empowering women, highlighting that Rs 10000 each has been transferred to the accounts of 1.21cr Jeevika Didis. He also praised the other initiatives taken by the state government.

Home Minister Shah is in midst of a fiery campaign in the poll bound state of Bihar which will face elections in the first and second weeks of November.

Other than Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have also started election campaign in the state where the NDA led by the Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] and Janata Dal [United] is in direct contestation with the Mahagathbandhan parties led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal [RJD] and Congress party.

The Mahagathbandhan parties have declared Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahni as their nominees for the Chief Minister and deputy CM posts, the NDA on the other side is fighting unitedly under incumbent CM Nitish Kumar.

The elections in the state are likely to be fought primarily on the issue of law order, development, migration and employment opportunities where while the NDA is aggressively highlighting the development work done in the past two decades along the state of law and order under the tenure of RJD, the Mahagathbandhan leaders are accusing the government for lack of employment opportunities.

The state will face polling on November 6 and 11 with counting of votes scheduled on November 14.
