Ayodhya Blast: Another explosion within 24 hours in UP leaves five dead; CM Yogi condoles loss of life

A fresh wave of shock gripped Uttar Pradesh on October 9 after another explosion took place in the state within 24 hours. The explosion that occurred in a house in Ayodhya claimed five lives and left several others injured

AYODHYA: Within a span of 24 hours Uttar Pradesh has been marred by another blast. Massive explosion took place in a house in Ram Nagri of Ayodhya in which at least five people lost their lives. Security personnel and the rescue team quickly swung into action and reached the spot.

On clearing the debris at the site of the explosion where the house had collapsed completely, it was found that five people were left dead. The explosion took place in Pagla Bhari village under Pura Kalandar police station. It was on October 8, 2025 that a blast had occurred in Kanpur’s Mishri Bazaar in which at least six people were left injured.

While speaking to the media, Nikhil Tikaram Funde, Ayodhya DM says, “Around 7:15–7:20 PM, a house collapsed following an explosion. First responders immediately reached the site and began rescue operations. The debris of the collapsed house has now been completely cleared, and the deaths of five people have been confirmed at the district hospital. Currently, the site is under investigation. No injuries have been reported so far apart from the five fatalities.”

As soon as the report of the blast came, the police, JCB and fire-fighting personnel quickly arived at the site of explosion.

SSP Gaurav Grover stated that they received the news that the blast occurred at the house of Pappu Gupta and they rushed to the spot. The injured were admitted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of an explosion in a house in Ayodhya. CM Yogi expressed condolences to the deceased and directed officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite relief work. In a statement issued from CM Yogi’s office it was stated that Chief Minister Yogi directed the immediate transportation of the injured to the hospital and ensured their proper treatment: Chief Minister’s Office.

At the time of the filing of the report, Nikhil Tikaram Funde told the media that” The cause of the incident is being investigated. Prima facie, it appears to have been caused by a cylinder or cooker explosion, but after the forensic report, we can be 100 per cent certain of the cause. We have not yet found any evidence of firecrackers here… We are investigating all aspects.”
