Uttar Pradesh: ABVP protests against irregularities affecting future of students at Kashi Vidyapeeth

Karyakartas of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest today at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, highlighting serious irregularities in the final year undergraduate examination results. Several students who had duly appeared for the examinations were wrongly marked as absent, while results of those with back papers have been withheld without any clear explanation.

Varanasi: The administrative negligence of the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth has triggered widespread anger among the student community. In response, ABVP karyakartas organized a protest at the university’s administrative building today, demanding accountability and immediate corrective action. Despite submitting a memorandum earlier requesting resolution of these issues, no substantial steps were taken by the university authorities. Consequently, ABVP was compelled to hold a peaceful protest to voice students’ concerns.

Several students who had duly appeared for the examinations were wrongly marked as absent, while results of those with back papers have been withheld without any clear explanation. Furthermore, the results for B.A. in Mass Communication were declared without any official communication to the students, leaving them unaware and facing numerous difficulties as a result.

Through this demonstration, ABVP has issued a clear warning to the administration: if swift and effective action is not taken to address these serious issues affecting students’ futures, the protest will be intensified and expanded further. Shivam Tiwari, Mahanagar Secretary of ABVP Varanasi, stated, “ABVP firmly stands with the students under all circumstances. We urge the university administration to act responsibly and take immediate steps to rectify the situation with utmost sensitivity and urgency.”
