Phone Tapping Case: Set officials are questioning Prabhakar Rao, the main accused in the phone tapping case, for the second day on Wednesday. They are investigating the destruction of hard disks. The officials are investigating by putting forward the statements given by Praneeth Rao, Radha Kishan Rao, and Thirupathanna.

The main accused in the Phone Tapping Case, former SIB chief (OSD) T. Prabhakar Rao, appeared before the SIT Inquiry on the second day (2nd Day) on Wednesday. The SIT investigation team seized personal cell phones. Within a few hours of Prabhakar Rao’s resignation, former DSC Praneeth Rao destroyed the hard disks and key information belonging to the SIB. In this context, the SIT officials conducted an inquiry into the destruction of the hard disks on the first day (Tuesday). A lengthy inquiry will be conducted today as well. The officials are investigating by putting forward the statements given by Praneeth Rao, Radha Kishan Rao and Thirupathanna.

Meanwhile, the SIT officials have ordered him to hand over the official and unofficial cellphones used by him during the 2023 assembly elections and the previous by-elections. They have also suggested that along with cellphones, laptops and Mac notebooks should also be handed over. In the wake of Prabhakar Rao not cooperating properly with the investigating officers on the first day of the investigation and asking counter-questions, it is understood that the investigation will be conducted based on the statements of Radhakishan Rao, Thirupatanna, Bhujanga Rao, and Praneeth Rao, who have been arrested so far, and the data retrieved from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

In particular, the SIT officials are prepared to question him by presenting evidence on the following issues: why some people had to prepare some key profiles along with judges? Why was a special operation team formed? How was the phone tapping done without the knowledge of Home Secretary Ravigupta? Meanwhile, Prabhakar Rao appeared before the Nampally court on Tuesday. The SIT officials approached the Nampally court seeking to declare Prabhakar Rao a declared criminal while he was in America. The Nampally court judge, who heard the petition, ordered Prabhakar Rao to appear in court by the 20th of this month. However, Prabhakar Rao withdrew as the concerned judge was on leave.
