Billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly considering the formation of a new political party following a serious fallout with US President Donald Trump. Musk initiated a poll on his social media platform X, asking, “Isn’t it time to form a political party that represents the 80 percent of the population, not the Republicans or Democrats?”
Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?

Tensions between Musk and Trump escalated after Musk made explosive allegations against the President. In a post on X, Musk demanded Trump’s impeachment and proposed Vice President JD Vance as a replacement. Musk also made a sensational claim that Trump’s name is included in the sealed files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, alongside other prominent individuals. According to Musk, this is the real reason the Epstein files have not been made public.
“Time to drop the big bombshell, Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That’s the real reason they weren’t made public. DJT, have a nice day!” Musk wrote. In a follow-up post, he added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
Musk further threatened to withdraw SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft in the wake of the controversy. His post came less than an hour after Trump publicly stated he was “disappointed” with Musk’s stance against the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Following Trump’s remarks, Tesla shares saw a sharp decline. Trump also revealed that Musk’s Tesla had received significant tax breaks.

Musk was appointed head of Dodge, an agency formed to reduce government spending, when Trump took office. However, Musk’s cost-cutting measures and job reduction initiatives led to widespread protests. Differences between Trump and Musk grew during this period, eventually leading to Musk’s resignation from Dodge.
The feud turned public with the Trump administration’s passage of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk previously criticised as “disgustingly disgusting.” Trump responded by saying he didn’t expect a good relationship with Musk, especially after Musk’s criticism of his budget policy.
Musk’s renewed Epstein-related allegation has now caught the attention of the opposition Democratic Party, which has demanded the release of the sealed files. Reports suggest that both the FBI and the Department of Justice have been urged to investigate the matter. The documents reportedly contain names of several high-profile individuals.

Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire and convicted sex offender, died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial. During court proceedings, the U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General alleged that Epstein’s Little St. James Island served as a base for trafficking underage girls and young women, who were then sexually abused. The island, according to the Attorney General, was used to conceal Epstein’s sex crimes and prevent victims from escaping.
The controversy continues to evolve, deepening the rift between two of the most influential figures in the US public life.
