In a stirring tribute to patriotism and the Indian Army, Mahila Samanvaya Odisha (Purv Prant) held a ‘Shaurya Yatra’ in Bhubaneswar to honour Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack. Bhubaneswar – In a powerful display of patriotism and solidarity with the Indian armed forces, Mahila Samanvaya Odisha (Purv Prant) organised a ‘Shaurya Yatra’ in Bhubaneswar to honour the bravery and success of Operation Sindoor—a military operation conducted in response to the brutal killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The yatra began at Rajmahal Square and culminated at Master Canteen Square, where a public meeting was held.
The gathering featured an address by Pragnya Mahala, National Convenor of Durga Vahini, who emphasised the symbolic and strategic importance of Operation Sindoor. “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam shook the nation, but the Indian Army’s bold and decisive response through Operation Sindoor instilled a sense of pride in every Indian,” she stated.

Mahala elaborated on the three primary objectives of the Shaurya Yatra: first, to honour and salute the courage of the Indian Army; second, to awaken a sense of civic responsibility among Indian citizens; and third, to inspire public trust and confidence in national leadership, sending a strong message of unity and resilience to society.

She further noted that Operation Sindoor was not merely a military retaliation, but a cultural and civilisational response to the attack on India’s identity and values. “This is not the India of the past that would tolerate such atrocities in silence. Today, India has the capability and the will to respond with equal or greater force. Operation Sindoor is a testament to that transformation,” she asserted.

Highlighting the growing self-reliance in defence, Mahala stated that the operation showcased India’s indigenous defence capabilities, sending a clear signal to the global community about India’s evolving military strength. She also pointed out that during the Pahalgam attack, terrorists had targeted civilians based on their religion, and that in a remarkable act of defiance and courage, female soldiers actively participated in the retaliation.

The event was graced by Sushmita Mahapatra, former Principal of Army School and Vice President of AACC Odisha, who attended as the chief guest. The programme was coordinated by Deeptimayee Nayak, with guest introductions by Pragnya Acharya and a vote of thanks delivered by Priyanka Jena.
