A young Hindu girl was deceitfully trapped into interfaith marriage, forcefully converted to Islam. She was subjected to brutal harassment by a man identified as Shoaib in Akbarpur region of Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the victim’s harrowing account, Shoaib, a resident of a village in the Akbarpur area, lured the girl into a relationship under false pretenses about a year ago. On June 9, 2024, he took her to a religious site in Kichoucha, where she was forcibly converted to Islam and married. Soon after, the couple began living in a rented accommodation on Tamsa Marg.

But the façade of marriage soon gave way to a nightmare. The victim alleges that Shoaib began physically abusing her within days of the marriage. Not only did he assault her routinely, but he also forced himself on her repeatedly, ignoring her protests and inflicting grave emotional and physical trauma.

To make matters worse, Shoaib reportedly filmed obscene videos of the girl and used them to blackmail her and her family, threatening to leak the footage online if she resisted his demands or attempted to escape. His brutality escalated to such an extent that the victim had to risk everything and flee from his captivity on April 8, 2025, eventually reaching her maternal home.

Her ordeal did not end there. The accused, brazenly unafraid of legal consequences, followed her to her home and publicly assaulted her in front of her family, threatening to kill her if she ever returned or spoke in public about her ordeal

The police swung into action after the victim and the family personally appealed to the Superintendent of Police (SP). Following the SP’s directive, the police finally registered an FIR on April 13.

Kotwal Srinivas Pandey confirmed the registration of a case under serious charges, including illegal conversion, physical assault, and criminal intimidation. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend Shoaib, who is reportedly absconding.
