Punjab Police have provided an update on the encounter that occurred on March 1 in the Khehra village of the Tarn Taran district, Punjab. Investigation Officer in Tarn Taran, SP Ajay Raj Singh, stated that the gangsters involved in the incident had a “history of criminal activities.”

The identified suspects–Arshdeep Singh, Robinpreet Singh, and Karandeep Singh–are reportedly involved in extortion and drug-related crimes under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS).

SP Ajay Raj Singh, overseeing the investigation of the Tarn Taran encounter, said, “These people were in touch with Gopi Numberdar. They were coming to Khehra Village…This morning, our raid party was going for patrolling when they received information that a few suspicious people were arriving in Khehra Village and they should be stopped. When attempts were made to stop them, they started firing bullets. There were three people on a motorcycle – Arshdeep Singh, Robinpreet Singh and Karadeeep Singh…”.
