Notably in a similar incident on February 11, another CRPF jawan was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma. The incident took place near a security camp at Sukma-Dantewada inter-district border under Jagargunda police station limits, injuring a CRPF head-constable.

A team of security personnel was out on area domination exercise in the area, during their return to the camp head-constable M N Shukla accidently stepped on a pressure IED, leading to an explosion. The injured jawan was administered primary treatment and airlifted to Raipur.

At least three security personnel were injured in another IED blast near the Bijapur-Dantewada border area on February 4.

The incident occurred during a joint anti-Maoist operation launched in the forest area near inter-district border of Bijapur-Dantewada causing injuries to a jawan of CRPF and two personnel of Districts Reserve Guard (DRG).

The IED planted by Maoists exploded after two personnel of the joint team accidently stepped upon it, causing an explosion.
