On January 30, Madhya Pradesh Police apprehended Imran Sukkha for disrespecting Bhagwan Shiva by placing his feet on a Shivling. The accused filmed the act and shared it on Instagram, which led to his identification and arrest by the authorities.
According to local reports, the incident took place in Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh, and the video has sparked widespread outrage among the Hindu community, who are demanding severe punishment for the accused.
On January 29, the accused filmed himself placing his foot on the Shivling and uploaded the video to Instagram, where it quickly went viral. Following this, an FIR was filed at Station Road police station by members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Hindu organisations informed the police that the accused had intentionally insulted Bhagwan Shiva and was last seen near Polyground. The complainant stated that the video was filmed at the same location and uploaded from the accused’s Instagram account, ‘Sukkha Maharaj.’ A screenshot of the video was submitted to the police, prompting them to take action against the individual.
Based on the complaint filed by Mahavir, an FIR was registered at the Station Road police station under Section 299 of the BNS Act, 2023. Imran Sukkha, who has offended the religious sentiments of Hindus, was subsequently arrested. Station Road PI Swaraj Dabi confirmed that the accused will be presented in court, and a remand order will be sought. The police also revealed that Sukkha, whose real name is Imran, has a history of criminal activities, with several cases previously filed against him.
