Guwahati: Thousands of students across the Northeastern states display cultural brilliance in Guwahati on January 31 in the Samutkarsh Mahashivir organised by Vidya Bharti.
The Samutkarsh Mahashivir is a transformative initiative aimed at fostering holistic development among young minds by integrating ancient Indian wisdom with modern pedagogical practices. This mega event hosted 5000 students from various schools across the North-East region, providing them with a platform to explore, learn, and grow in a nurturing environment.
Rooted in the principles of Panch Mahabhoot (the five elements) and Panchakoshatmak Vyaktitva Vikas (five-sheath personality development), the Mahashivir inspires to guide participants towards self-realization, civic responsibility and ecological harmony. It incorporates the Panchapadi Shikshan Paddhati (five-step learning methodology) to ensure experiential and meaningful learning.
The Mahashivir emphasizes the interconnection of mind, body and soul, while also promoting awareness of the environment, cultural values and social equality. Through a blend of physical activities, music, yoga and spiritual education, the event will act as a catalyst for self-invention and empowerment.
The Samutkarsh Mahashivir is not merely an event but a journey—a journey toward personal growth, communal harmony and sustainable development. It seeks to prepare the youth as torchbearers of positive change, nurturing their potential to contribute significantly to their families, communities and the nation.
Attending the closing ceremony Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that holistic development of every student is a collective effort of the government and society. Therefore, government and civil society must come on the same plane with a common action plan to ensure all round development of the students.
He said that every student must strive to become a valuable human resource, embracing challenges and sacrifices to propel the state and the nation to a greater height. He also said that it is through relentless effort that students can ignite a renaissance in every sphere of their life.
Hailing the Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra for organizing the programme, the Chief Minister said that Samutkarsh Mahashivir is a transformative initiative which would definitely foster self-realization, cultural values and social harmony. He also said that Vidya Bharati is committed to imparting education right from primary stage to higher education giving unprecedented impetus to bring about spiritual and moral transformation in the students through the use of mother tongue. He also said that Vidya Bharati imparting the value-based education through a set of curriculum with the help of its network of around seven hundred schools scattered across the length and breadth of the region.
The Chief Minister also said that the Samutkarsh Mahashivir has imparted instructions and knowledge to the participating students to gain self-realisation, responsibility towards society and environment. He said that the performance of the 5000 students who performed Ghosh and 1000 students who showcased Bihu, reflected holistic development and national pride.
The Chief Minister said that today’s youth besides attaching value to the traditional system of education, should look towards the future to make them fit and relevant to the profound changes that the world is going through. He also said that using the ancient values and knowledge along with the knowledge of the 21st century, everybody should contribute to make India viswaguru by 2047. The Chief Minister also said that the Artificial Intelligence and other related technology like BlockChain, Big Data Analysis, Mobile Internet, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Internet of Things (IOT), Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mix Reality, Quantum Computing, Advanced Genomics, 3D printing Gene Editing would transform India into a super power. He also said that the students should be empowered to become competent for Industry 4.0.
Chief Minister Dr. Sarma referring to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India Viksit by 2047 said that all the students should take concerted efforts to contribute to the transformation of the nation. The Chief Minister moreover expressed his happiness after attending the Samutkarsh Mahashivir organised by Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, which has brought together 5000 students from NE. Mesmerized by the immense talent and potential of the youths, who displayed some extraordinary performances, the Chief Minister said that after witnessing their acts, he is confident that in the coming years they will become great to lead the nation to its rightful position.
Padma Bhusan awardee and sattriya dance exponent Jatin Goswami, RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Dr. Krishna Gopal, Education Minister Arunachal Pradesh Pasong Dorjee Sona, Sports Minister Nandita Gorlosa, Joint Secretary Organization Vidya Bharti Jatindra Sarma and a host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
