“For some time now, many conspiracies are being hatched against Bharat – conspiracies to weaken its democracy, its economy and destroy its social fabric. Although these conspiracies are being hatched at the international level, national parties like Congress and their allies are involved in this game. While Haryana has now given a befitting reply to every such conspirator, it is time all of Bharat and Bharatiyas take a pledge that we will stand guard against all divisive people and not let any such conspiracy to succeed; a pledge that Bharat will not deviate from the path of development”, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at the party headquarters in Delhi on October 8, after it won the Haryana Assembly elections by winning 48 seats. The PM congratulated one and all for BJP’s exemplary performance in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls as well.
He said while addressing the BJP workers, “Today’s election results have also brought one glaring fact to the fore, and that is the Congress is now totally dependent on other parties for victory. We noticed this even during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Half of the seats won by it were due to its alliance partners. The Congress wants to take this country to a place wherein people hate their legacy, and doubt their national institutions. The fact is that Congress wants to tarnish the image of everything that people are proud of, be it the Election Commission, the Army, the police or the judiciary. Before the Lok Sabha elections, these people and their Urban Naxal friends went to the court so that they could raise a question mark on Constitutional neutrality of the Election Commission. Today, they have done the same thing to misguide people on the EC. The Congress has been doing this for many years”.
“The ‘guarantee of development’ has defeated the lies which were spread during the elections in Haryana. Significantly, since its formation, Haryana has gone to polls 13 times, and each time it has changed the party governing it. It is for the first time that the electorate have voted to power the same party for the third time in a row. The people of Haryana have created history by giving continuous three terms to the BJP. Not just that, they have also given more seats to the BJP than before, and there has also been an increase in vote percentage. This mandate will be remembered for long, by many,” he roared before the jubilant crowd.
While pointing out the acceptance of the BJP across different States, Prime Minister Modi said that the BJP has liberated people from the misgovernance of the Congress and hence, the people of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and Tripura, are voting it to power again and again. On the other hand, Congress has not returned to power since many years. He described Congress as a Parajeevi (Paracitic Entity) who is dependent on the allies.
The Congress repeated its government 13 years back, in Assam. There are many States in the country, where the Congress was in power 50-60 years back. Once people ousted the Congress from their States, they did not allow them in again. They have put up a banner of no entry. Earlier, the Congress used to think that people would elect it even if it does not work.
While targeting Congress and its dynasty politics, the Prime Minister said, “Now the Congress has been exposed. It always believed that it has a birth right to rule over India. Without power, the Congress is like fish without water. Today, the whole Bharat is seeing how the Congress is dividing society in the name of caste. Those who lived a royal life wanted poor people to fight people in the name of caste. This is the Congress that has oppressed Dalits and janjatiya people. This is the Congress that deprived them of roti, paani, makan (bread, water and house) for many decades. These are the people who would not allow people from Dalit, Scheduled Tribes and other backward castes to become the Prime Minister of this country even after coming to power after 100 years. The truth is that the Congress (family) is against Dalits, Scheduled Tribes and backward castes. Even in Haryana, they declined to give a share to Dalits and backwards. The family even declared that the party would end the reservation.”
While making a sharp attack on Congress politics, he thanked the BJP workers by acknowledging their ground work in ensuring victory in Haryana and good performance in J&K. While the national ruling party registered a historic third consecutive victory in Haryana defying all predictions in favour of Congress, in Jammu Kashmir party secured 29 seats in Jammu region and improved its vote-share in the Kashmir valley. He also praised former Haryana Chief Minister Manohal Lal and sitting Chief Minister Nayab Saini for providing the corruption-free governance.
“Jaha doodh-dahi ka khana, waisa hai apna Haryana’. The people of Haryana have done wonders. Today is the sixth day of Navratri, the day of Maa Katyayani. Maa Katyayani is sitting on a lion with a lotus in her hand. She is blessing all of us. On such a holy day, lotus has bloomed in Haryana for the third time,” Modi said while connecting the Navaratri celebrations with
BJP’s victory. While talking about the J&K results PM said, the Union Territory witnessed peaceful conduct of free and fair polls after seven decades, with universal adult franchise being exercised by sections of society there which were deprived of it till now. There was full restoration of the Constitution of Bharat and democracy in the Union Territory. He called this a “fitting tribute” to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar who had opposed insertion of Article 370.
The main focus of PM’s speech remained on unity and integrity of the nation and global conspiracy to destabilise the democracy. The crowd cheered him when he mentioned that the impact of these elections results would be visible in Jharakhand, Maharashtra and Delhi Assembly elections as well. Besides party president JP Nadda, Defene Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah were also present on the stage. Many national leaders were there in the audience where thousands of workers thronged to celebrate the historic win.
