Two of the men belongs to Bihar’s Sheohar district and were brothers. The trio were residing in Bandgaon and had gone for their regular work on Sunday’s afternoon and didn’t returned, after which there bodies were recovered in a decomposed state.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, both residents of Sheohar and Tulsi Shah, a resident of Motihari. The gruesome killing of hawkers has left the other employed in the same profession in a state of panic and distress, prompting a few to leave the locality .

No information about the assailants has so far surfaced and the matter is being investigated by the police. Involvement of Maoists behind the killing is also suspected, given the area is considered a stronghold of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).
