NEW DELHI: On September 17, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)-led Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) launched U-Special bus services at the North Campus of Delhi University. This move addresses the longstanding demand for accessible and affordable transportation for students.
The reinstatement of the U- Special Bus service is a welcome development for the students of Delhi University, as it aims to provide efficient and accessible transportation. This initiative marks a significant milestone, as it comes as a result of the ABVP-led DUSU allocating the past three years’ DUSU Fund worth 70 Lakh Rupees to the University for purchase and operation of buses.
Delhi University Students’ Union President, Tushar Dedha stated, “ Reinstatement of U- special buses has been a longstanding demand of ABVP led DUSU. Ensuring accessible and affordable transportation for students of Delhi University is our top most priority. Today, through our efforts, the DUSU fund of past three sessions that was lying unused, has been allocated to provide for the U Special buses and we have started the process of reinstating the U- Special bus services.”
Students’ Union Secretary, Aprajita said, “As promised in our manifesto, we have launched U-special buses today through DUSU fund worth 70 Lakhs. This initiative is a testament to ABVP led DUSU’s commitment towards its promises and never ending service to students of Delhi University.”
Students’ Union Joint Secretary, Sachin Baisla stated, “Our list of promises are not just on paper, we are an organization which is devoted to serving the students 365 days a year. I assure you that ABVP will always be there for the students, fighting for their rights and creating a better University experience.”
