In a shocking incident that unfolded in Dhangardiha village under Bhavnathpur block of Giridih district, a government school teacher allegedly created a ruckus by vandalising sound system during Sarasawati Vandana (a prayer dedicated to goddess of knowledge, Maa Saraswati) on Wednesday, July 31.

The incident which has sent shockwaves in the area occurred in government utkramit middle school based in Dhangardih sparking an outrage among the locals and the members of Hindu outfits of the locality.

According to the reports, Sheikh Tauhid, a resident of Rahela who works as a teacher in the said school created a ruckus in the school premises during the morning prayers when he while opposing the Saraswati Vandana being sung by the student vandalized the school sound system.

Tauhid’s act attracted immediate response from other teachers of the school who tried stopping and overpowering him leading to heated exchange between the accused and the others during which the former also started religious sloganeering. The school administration then informed the local police about the whole incident after which a police team arrived at the spot and detained, Sheikh Tauhid.

The incident sparked an outrage among the members of the local Hindu outfit who later submitted a complaint to the police alleging Tauhid for hurting religious sentiments along demanding swift action into the matter. The locals also raised demands for Tauhid dismissal.

However, it’s been reported that the accused was set free by the police after securing his signature on a Personal Recognizance (PR) bond on Wednesday evening. According to the latest inputs available Tauhid has been suspended by the concerned authorities for his conduct while a probe is still underway into the matter.

Its been further reported that the accused has a history of carrying out similar immoral acts and he also had reportedly distributed sweets after the Pulwama terror attack in which a total of 40 soldiers were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir.
