Chopin, who is from France, has been a yoga instructor for over four decades and was presented the award for “defying age limiting norms by learning yoga after turning 50.”

Even at the age of 101, she’s actively teaching yoga. She began her yoga career in 1982 in France and went on to spread the importance of yoga, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle across the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Charlotte Chopin for the first time in Paris last year when he was on a French tour to attend the Bastille Day Parade.

PM Modi appreciated Chopin’s deep faith in yoga and her groundbreaking work in the promotion of the practice in France.
