Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Hyderabad Parliament seat, has lodged a formal complaint against incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Asaduddin Owaisi with the Election Commission at Hyderabad on April 22. Madhavi Latha, BJP candidate for the Hyderabad Parliament constituency, complained to MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi with the Election Commission in Hyderabad on April 22.

Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Hyderabad Parliament seat, has taken a stand against Asaduddin Owaisi by filing a complaint at the election office in Hyderabad.

A circulating video has surfaced on the internet depicting Asaduddin Owaisi, the contesting candidate for the Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency, engaging with a butcher during his campaign in the Old City area. In the video, he is heard encouraging the butcher to continue his profession by saying “kaat te raho” in Urdu, along with expressing support for beef consumption with the phrase “beef zindabad.”

During his Hyderabad campaign, AIMIM leader @asadowaisi greeted a beef shop owner with 'Rehan Beef Shop Zindabad' and goes on to say ‘Kaat the raho’.

In her complaint, “Remarks of Asaduddin Owaisi are perceived as a direct endorsement of beef consumption, which may contradict the sentiments of a significant portion of the community. Such statements could be construed as an attempt to sway the sentiments of a particular community for electoral advantage.”

On April 20, Shaik Imran, a resident of Hyderabad, complained with the police stating that “On 17-04-2024, during Sri Ram Navami Shobhayatra procession, Madhavi Latha made a gesture of drawing an imaginary arrow and shooting it at the Masjid located at the circle of Siddi Amber Bazar. She expressed great joy after her heinous conduct of this action. This irresponsible action of hers has hurt the sentiments of his Muslim community to an extent that the pain and anguish has been felt by the entire community.”

However, she denied these allegations and said the video was misleading to create negativity among the people.
