Former IPS officer and Tamil Nadu state BJP president, K Annamalai, expressed his dismay on April 21 over the disruption of a traditional ritual like Thrissur Pooram. Emphasising the importance of impartiality in policing within a democratic system, Annamalai stated that the people of Kerala would deliver a fitting response to those responsible for the disruption. He made these remarks during a roadshow held as part of G Krishnakumar’s election campaign, who is contesting as a BJP candidate in the Kollam constituency.
K Annamalai, addressing a gathering, highlighted the political landscape in Kerala, stating that the Congress and Communists engage in internal conflicts. He emphasised the need for the I.N.D.I Alliance to disintegrate in Kerala before considering broader political goals. Annamalai advocated for Prime Minister Modi’s leadership at the national level and urged Kerala to elect Modi as well. He criticised the neglect of the Jal Jeeva Mission in Kerala, contrasting it with the success rate of 96 per cent in Bihar alone. Annamalai pointed out that most schemes implemented in Kerala originated from the Union Government, with either altered names or halted implementation. He clarified the absence of any Union Government scheme implemented under its name in Kerala.
Tamil Nadu BJP leader predicts the demise of the I.N.D.I Alliance following the Tamil Nadu polls, foreseeing its conclusion after the second phase of voting. He anticipates Kerala’s liberation on June 4, coinciding with the election results announcement. Despite suffering a severe eye injury during campaigning on April 20, candidate G. Krishnakumar led a spirited roadshow, joined by thousands, including many women. K. Annamalai, alongside, despite his eye injury, remained committed to the campaign trail despite the scorching heat.
In a subsequent event, Annamalai addressed an election gathering for Rajeev Chandrasekhar in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, drawing a sizable audience. During his speech, Annamalai expressed confidence in Chandrasekhar’s victory, asserting that voters prioritise tangible development over mere assurances. He emphasised that electing a BJP Member of Parliament is crucial for advancing progress in the region.
