The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti has praised India’s developmental journey saying that if anyone wants to see the future, they should come to the country. Speaking at an event, he also mentioned his great privilege of being future ready, because of his position as the leader of the United States mission.

“If you want to see the future, come to India. If you want to feel the future, come to India. If you want to work on the future, then come to India.  I have the great privilege of being able to do that every single day as the leader of the US mission,” he said at an event in India.

The US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan also commended the country’s ties with India by saying that its partnership has gone to new heights. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Sulivan said, “The partnership between the US and India, a country in the BRICS, has gone to new heights with an engagement across technology and security and so many other dimensions.”

Reiterating US President Joe Biden’s message for the ties between the two countries, he said the president told him that India was the most important country in the world, and that Washington’s ties with New Delhi were the most consequential for shaping the world order in this century. Garcetti also recalled about his time spent in India as a child and said hie deep emotional connection with India never left his soul.

The relations between the two countries have been under the scanner lately after the US prosecutors charged an Indian man named Nikhil Gupta in November 2023 in connection with his involvement in an alleged foiled plan to assassinate Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on US soil.

America had alleged that Nikhil Gupta was working with an Indian government official and had agreed to pay an assassin 100,000 USD to kill Pannun who lives in New York city. India already has constituted the probe to investigate the allegations.

Earlier this month, Eric Garcetti praised the Indian government for doing everything that was asked for pertaining to the probe into Pannun Murder plot. He however, stressed that a red line should not be crossed and no country or no government employee should be involved in the assassination of foreign national.
