Telangana: Bhagyanagar is set to host three day multi-art festival ‘Ramayana Kalpavrksam’

Ramayana is ingrained in the Bharatiya psyche beyond imagination and this epic touches all the elements of existence of life and beyond of cosmology. Since time immemorial, this magnificent epic has captivated everyone whoever sees and experienced it. Retelling this same story in whatever format is a unique experience for both the artist and the audience.

So now the Bhagyanagar, is once again ready to immerse in the three day multi art festival Ramayana Kalpavrksam organised by Shankarananda Kalakshetra & Natyarambha in collaboration with Brhat, Scheduled from March 29 2024 – to March 31 2024 , at the CCRT Campus, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant, renowned dancer and Padma Shri awardee, speaking about this program, said, ‘My engagement with Rama and the Ramayana, has been a continuing and ongoing immersion in Sri Rama. Many of my dance productions that revolve around Sri Rama.’

“I have always believed that the most powerful doorway to Indic knowledge is through Bharat’s many splendored arts and crafts. ‘After the stupendous success of last year’s festival and on popular demand, we are excited to bring back Ramayana Kalpavrksam to Hyderabad this year,” adds Dr Ananda.

This three-day festival includes several curated events -scintillating performances, ranging from the classical to the popular, thought-provoking talks and discussions, immersive arts workshops in dance ideation, Sanskrit and digital arts, book releases, artisans corner and other special features.

The organisers said the title of the festival is inspired by Srimad Ramayana Kalpavrikshamu, a 6 volume magnum opus written in the 20th century by Kavi Samrat Viswanatha Satyanarayana, the first Gnanpeeth awardee in Telugu; that has stirred the Rama Bhakta and artists.
