Noted journalist SK Kaul leaves for heavenly abode

SK Kaul, the renowned editor of Vanbandhu magazine, passed away peacefully at a private hospital in Delhi on March 26. He was 98 years old.

Kaul had been ailing for some time and was admitted to the hospital a few days ago. He breathed his last at 10:30 AM on March 26, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.

Kaul was a well-respected figure in the Indian media industry. He had a long and illustrious career spanning over six decades. He began his career as a journalist with the Times of India in 1956. He later served as the editor of several leading publications, including The Statesman, The Hindu, and The Indian Express.

Kaul was also a prolific author. He wrote several books on a variety of subjects, including politics, history, and culture. His most notable works include “The Making of Modern India” and “India: A Biography.”

Kaul was a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, for his contributions to journalism and literature. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

Kaul’s death is a great loss to the Indian media industry. He was a true legend and will be remembered for his immense contributions to journalism and literature.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11:00 AM at the Lodhi Crematorium in New Delhi.
