A subtle revolution is occurring in a world where comparison and competitiveness are commonplace: women are helping other women to excel. It’s a movement based on empathy, unity, and the knowledge that when women work together, they can do wonders. This phenomenon is altering communities, industries, and mindsets from the boardroom down to the grassroots.

Building support networks is a key component of uplifting women. These networks give women a secure platform to discuss financial issues, exchange ideas, and acknowledge successes. Women are uniting to support and encourage one another, whether via official mentorship programmes or casual get-togethers. An initiative like Lakhpati Didi Yojana, launched by the Narendra Modi government, is a perfect example. Lakhpati Yojana aims to contribute to the financial empowerment of women by providing entrepreneurship opportunities. The Yojana encourages women to join support systems or groups such as Self Help Groups (SHGs). As said by Prime Minister Modi, the sisters of SHG groups should be addressed as champions in contributing to making India self-reliant as these groups are working not only as SHGs but as “National Help Groups”. Women in these networks find strength in oneness. They sympathise with one another’s particular struggles and extend unconditional support. Women support and understand one another when it comes to juggling work and family obligations or negotiating a male-dominated field.

It matters who is represented because when women observe other women achieving success in different industries, it gives them motivation and affirmation of their strengths. Women empower others by aggressively questioning social standards and dispelling preconceptions about female accomplishments. For instance, President Draupadi Murmu as Head of State of the Republic of Bharat represents a modern, multicultural, pluralistic nation-state progressing forward on the way to gender-inclusive development. She has emerged as a ray of hope for many women coming from marginalised sections of society. She also represents the beauty of democracy in Bharat, where an ordinary school teacher from a relatively inaccessible corner of the country can lead the world’s largest democracy. In fields that have historically been controlled by men, including politics and entertainment, women are rising to the top. Not only does their presence provide opportunities for upcoming generations, but it also sends a strong message that women’s potential is boundless.

Speaking up for one another further means that women can uplift each other. Making sure that women’s views are heard and appreciated is crucial in a world where women’s contributions are frequently disregarded or underestimated. Women are working together to seek equal respect and representation in the workplace, media, and community.

The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyama seeks to amend the pervasive gender inequality in political representation by reserving a third of the seats in the Lok Sabha and legislative assemblies for women. It is a historical bill which has seen its fair share of struggle for over 27 years. Even after being passed in the Rajya Sabha in 2010, it fell prey to the prevalent patriarchal mindset of not taking women seriously in their official duties. This revolutionary bill aims at enabling greater participation of women in policy-making at the state and national levels. Even PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, a vocal critic of the central government and the BJP, welcomed this decision.

“Having navigated the rough terrain of a predominantly male political landscape myself, I am happy to see that finally, the Women Reservation Bill will become a reality. Despite constituting half of the population, we are grossly underrepresented. It’s a great step,” Mufti wrote on X.

Ultimately, the goal of encouraging women is to give back. They are dedicated to giving future generations the same support and direction that other women have given them. Through various means such as activism, mentoring, or setting a good example, women contribute to future generations’ development and self-determination. Women are creating an outcome that goes well beyond their accomplishments by uplifting as they ascend. They are constructing a society where each woman is encouraged to realise her potential and feel appreciated and supported.

Women boosting women is a tremendous force for change and goes beyond merely being a slogan. Through the development of support mechanisms, representation that empowers, voice amplification, and giving back, women are transforming the perception of what it means to be a woman in the modern world. They are not only encouraging one another but also clearing the path for a more inclusive and equitable future for everybody, as long as they work together in solidarity. On the other hand, female bullying undermines women’s ability to empower individuals collectively by destroying trust, eroding solidarity, and sustaining damaging cycles of exclusion and oppression. Women must confront harmful presumptions, acknowledge the adverse effects of internalised misogyny, and create cultures that value cooperation, respect, and support to overcome this obstacle to their growth. Women can help each other grow and reach their full potential by working to build inclusive places and demolish oppressive structures.
