Keeping in mind the preparations that are underway in India for the upcoming general elections, the schedule of which is likely to be released this month; The CUET UG 2024 dates will be changed. Although not confirmed, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagadesh Kumar has hinted about the possible changes in the CUET UG 2024 dates.

Also, changes in the UGC CUET UG 2024 exam pattern have been witnessed, as this year the mode of exam will be a hybrid blending of pen-and-paper and computer-based testing based on the popularity of subjects in application form. The subjects that have a high number of registrations will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode using the OMR format; whereas the remaining subjects will be computer-based. This year, the subject selection options have also been reduced to 6, compared to 10. in the past

CUET UG 2024, which is a pivotal academic exam for countless students aspiring to take admmision in undergraduate programmes at various central universities, was initially set to be conducted from May 15 to 30, 2024. However, a cloud of uncertainty looms over the CUET UG 2024 exam dates as the nation prepares itself for crucial Lok Sabha elections. The anticipation surrounding the election dates has introduced an element of unpredictability, forcing exam authorities to consider changes in the exam dates to avoid any clashes.

It is important to create a balance between both due to their significant nature, i.e. one determining the academic pursuits of students, and the other shaping the political landscape of the nation. Avoiding the date clashes will also ensure a smooth and fair examination process for students. Moreover, the uncertainty regarding the CUET UG 2024 exam dates stems from the inherent challenges posed by coordinating logistics, securing venues, and managing human resources amidst the dynamic political environment. As the official dates for the Lok Sabha elections have not been announced yet, the authorities are being cautious and careful in exploring alternative schedules for the CUET UG 2024.

The Chairman acknowledged that the final dates for the CUET UG 2024 are contingent upon the release of official election dates. This transparency in communication reflects the commitment to providing accurate and timely information to all the stakeholders involved in the examination process.

CUET UG 2024 Registrations
The exam registrations have already begun from February 27. The CUET UG 2024 application form will be available till March 26 for candidates who wish to register for the exam. Post this, the application correction window will be activated.
