Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies get the much needed boost

The National Convention of Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) was concluded by Sahakar Bharati on February 9 and 10 in Hubli (Karnataka). The convention was inaugurated by GT Devgowda MLA and President, Karnataka Cooperative Federation, wherein representatives from 16 States consisting of 940 delegates participated in the convention besides 4,000 delegates comprising of Presidents, Directors, Secretaries & other office bearers (from 1150 cooperative societies) of Karnataka .

Chief guest was Union Minister of State for Ministry of Cooperation Shri B.L Verma who highlighted the schemes and decisions of the new Cooperation Ministry formed by the Government of India. Minister underlined the indispensable role of PACS societies for the rural economy. Describing the importance of the Model Bylaws of Multipurpose PACS recently issued by the Government of India, Shri BL Verma expressed the hope that all the PACS of the country will soon be able to provide all types of financial and non-financial services for the rural population by undertaking various income generating multi-purpose activities.

National President of Sahakar Bharati Shri DN Thakur, National General Secretary Dr Uday Joshi, Member of Parliament Shri Anna Saheb Jole, Patron Shri Ramesh Vaidya, Shri Rajendra Thanvi, Shri Keshav Harodia addressed the occasion. The National Organiser of Sahakar Bharati Shri Sanjay Pachpore concluded the event by giving detailed information on the role and usefulness of PACS. He said that a bright future is waiting for the PACS movement & all of us should work with dedication, honesty and PACS should be a partner in the progress of the country. The invaluable contribution of Sahakar Bharati Karnataka President Shri Rajshekhar ji, General Secretary Shri Mohan Das Nayak ji, PACS Cell Convenor Shri Mallikarjun ji was also appreciated in the convention.
