Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) extends its sincere appreciation to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for extending the deadline for claiming post-doctoral/doctoral fellowships from February 8 to April 8, 2024. This decision comes after ABVP’s demand to the UGC Chairperson on February 3, highlighting the challenges faced by researchers in universities and urging prompt action.
The extension of the fellowship claim date by UGC brings significant relief to students grappling with the paperwork process. ABVP acknowledges this as a crucial step in alleviating the concerns of research scholars across the nation.
Yagywalkya Shukla, ABVP’s National General Secretary stated,” UGC’s decision to extend the fellowship claim deadline is a welcoming step. There is a need for universities to augment staffing within the fellowship division and streamline administrative procedures to enhance student convenience.”
