When the country is preparing for the consecration of Ram Mandir on January 22, and people are quite enthusiastically engaged in distribution of Akshat to every household, the Hyderabad police finds faults and registered a suo moto case against the Hindus. As per the details, a suo moto case was registered on 29 December 2023, at Market Police station, Secunderabad on residents of Koneru Veedhi, Sai Baba Temple Lane in Secunderabad with the FIR no-260/2023. Though, the organisers had due permission from the authorities to conduct this shobhayatra in the mentioned area.

As it gets into notice, the Vishwa Hindu Parishath, Telangana unit has condemned the behaviour of police and urged them to withdraw the case immediately.

Speaking to the Organiser Weekly, Dr Ravinuthala Shashidhar, joint secretary of VHP Telangana, said the people in 12,801 villages of Telangana, welcome these Askhithas with a lot of devotion and rituals, but police in Hyderabad find issues of their own to insult the Hindus and their rituals. The Akshithas are being distributed at every house in accordance with the Ayodhya Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust’s call.

VHP Telangana in its press release, said this FIR is an insult to the sentiments of Hindus and in the area where Bhagwan Ram had footsteps during his lifetime. It also questioned why police remember sound pollution and Supreme Court rulings particularly during Hindu festivals? It also questioned why no cases are being filed against other people’s places of worship when on the same lines when five times a day violating the same norms.

Press Release of VHP

Dr Shishadhar also brought up the incident in Rainbazaar, Brahmanwadi, in the old City of Hyderabad’s Yakutpura constituency, where brutally attacked Hindus involved in distributing Akshat on January 6. He said this attack happened when Hyderabad MP Asaddudin Owaisi was present at the Congress government’s Praja Palana programme, which was happening across the street from the incident. He demands that the police immediately withdraw the cases and apologise, claiming that actions such as filing a FIR and lathicharge on Hindus in Hyderabad were taken to appease the AIMIM and Congress leaders.
