In a disturbing incident reported from Guwahati, Assam, another case of Love Jihad has come to light. The accused, identified as Sadique Ali, a Muslim youth, assumed the false identity of ‘Rahul Sharma’ to entrap a Hindu girl in a relationship marred by love and sexual exploitation. The harrowing tale unfolded when the victim decided to end the relationship, leading to a series of blackmail attempts by the accused.

The Hindu girl, residing in the Panbazaar area of Guwahati, fell victim to Sadique Ali’s deceitful tactics. He concealed his Muslim identity and presented himself as a Hindu named ‘Rahul Sharma.’ The girl, unsuspecting of the deception, became ensnared in his web of deceit.

Allegedly, Sadique exploited the girl’s trust by promising marriage and cultivating a sexual relationship. When the girl discovered his true identity and sought to terminate the relationship, Sadique resorted to threats of exposing her private photos and videos. Faced with the prospect of public humiliation, the girl chose to end the relationship.

Subsequently, the devastated girl filed a complaint against Sadique at the Cyber Police Station of CID Assam. The police, acting promptly, registered a case against the accused under various sections, including 376 (rape), 294 (obscene act), 419 (punishment for cheating), 379 (theft), 201 (destroying evidence), 427 (mischief causing damage), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and section 66D, 67 of the Information Technology Act.

A dedicated police team initiated a manhunt, leading to the arrest of Sadique Ali in the Panbazaar railway station area on the afternoon of November 2, 2023.
