In a shocking revelation, a group of eight individuals has been apprehended in the Nawada region of Bihar for orchestrating a deceitful recruitment service aimed at exploiting childless women. The clandestine operation, known as the “All India Pregnant Job Agency,” promised substantial rewards to individuals willing to impregnate women struggling with infertility issues. The mastermind behind the illicit scheme, Munna Kumar, remains at large.
Operating under the guise of aiding childless women, the accused solicited clients to register with their agency by paying a nominal fee of Rs 799. In return, they promised a lucrative payout of Rs 13 lakh after successfully impregnating women facing difficulties conceiving with their partners. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kalyan Anand revealed that prospective participants were required to submit the registration fee and were then provided with a selection of women’s images to choose from.
The modus operandi involved reaching out to unsuspecting individuals via WhatsApp, urging them to assist “unfortunate” women unable to conceive through conventional means. Upon registration and payment of Rs 799, participants were further coerced into paying a variable ‘security deposit’ ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. Notably, the amount demanded correlated with the perceived attractiveness of the chosen woman.
Assurances from the cybercriminals included the promise of a Rs 13 lakh ‘prize money’ upon successful conception, with a ‘consolation prize’ of Rs 5 lakh guaranteed, even in the event of failure. However, investigations have revealed that there were no actual women awaiting impregnation, and victims ended up losing both their registration and security deposits to the fraudulent operation.
Law enforcement authorities seized nine cell phones, two printers, and numerous data sheets during the arrests. The police emphasised that the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests may follow as they delve deeper into the intricacies of the case.
