Kerala: “Congress and CPM spread the red carpet for terrorism”, says Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, addressing a massive BJP rally in Kozhikode, Kerala, launched scathing allegations against both the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). Chandrasekhar asserted that these parties have been rolling out a figurative “red carpet” to terrorism and terrorist factions within the State.

Inaugurating the rally on December 2, the Minister accused the ruling CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) of supporting terrorism through their policies. Chandrasekhar claimed that both political fronts are fostering an environment conducive to religious terrorism, thereby posing a significant threat to Kerala’s stability and safety.

In a fervent BJP rally held in Kerala, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and State BJP president K Surendran launched scathing criticisms against the ruling fronts, accusing them of fostering an environment conducive to terrorism and exploiting the populace economically.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar speaking in the Rally

Chandrasekhar highlighted the lack of job opportunities for youths in Kerala, contrasting it with the economic opportunities available in neighboring states. He alleged that the Kerala Government’s policies have facilitated an impression that terrorism is being supported within the state. The Union Minister criticised the political fronts, especially Congress, CPM, and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), for not denouncing terrorists and referred to their purported support for Hamas representatives, terming it as encouragement for terrorism.

Furthermore, Chandrasekhar emphasised the limitations of freedom of expression within the constitutional framework, citing concerns about those impeding national progress and those easily falling victim to terrorism. He underscored the Union Government’s efforts over the past nine years to combat terrorism at its root.

The rally, attended by thousands, served as a response to the aforementioned political fronts and their rallies supporting Palestine, which Chandrasekhar labeled as a disguised endorsement of Hamas terrorists.

In a separate address, K Surendran accused the Kerala government of exploiting the populace economically. He highlighted issues concerning land title deeds from 1986, alleging governmental misappropriation through seizure notices based on manipulated registration prices. Surendran vowed legal and political action against this alleged exploitation. Additionally, he accused the government of withholding widow pensions from around 30,000 eligible recipients, citing unnecessary documentation requirements as a means to deny them their rightful entitlements.
