The magnitude of the minority appeasement is clearly visible when the Tamil Nadu government failed to take any action against those who branded India as one of the two terrorist nations in the world”.

The State government of Tamil Nadu continued its appeasement as they failed to take action against those who shouted Allahu Akbar and offered Namaz on cricket grounds, supported the premature release of 36 Muslim prisoners, objected to bringing the national flag into the stadium, opposed chanting Jai Sri Ram, and allowed fans to wear Pakistani t-shirts, saying no objection to bail plea Al Umma terrorist SA Basha in High Court have given them guts to brand India as a terrorist nation.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated from October 7 2023. Hamas terrorists mercilessly attacked Israel, taking a heavy toll. In a show of strength, in Tamil Nadu, various Muslim outfits have been organising protests. Political parties, including the ruling DMK, CM MK Stalin, and minister Udhayanidhi Stalin openly came out in support of Palestine and Hamas.

In a show of “solidarity”, a massive demonstration was held in Coimbatore in support of Palestine, organised by Islamic organisations, Jamaats, and political parties. Thousands of participants gathered in front of Ukkadam Valliammai Bakery to voice their support for the Palestinians. the protest happened on October 24, 2023 in Ukkadam, Coimbatore. It was organised by All Jamat and Islamic outfits in support of Palestine. One of the speakers was an Imam from Mandaveli and his name was Ilyaz Riyaji.

A large number of Muslim women participated in the demonstration, raising their voices and slogans to underscore their demands. Some of the slogans raised during the demonstration include, “Let the Zionist group fall”, “Inquilab Inquilab, Palestinian Inquilab”, “Lal Salaam, Assalaam, Intifada Inquilab”. These slogans are reminiscent of the slogans raised in JNU.

The participants have underscored the need for the Indian government to abstain from supporting Israel and instead rally behind the Palestinian population. They said that except for the BJP and RSS, all political parties were united in their support for the people of Palestine.

They alleged that the police permitted the BJP State President, Annamalai, to march during peak hours but refused permission for Muslims to march in support of the Palestinian people. They called on the Tamil Nadu government to address this “disparity”.

Coimbatore Sunnat Jamaat Policy Federation, Jamaatul Ulama Sabha, IUML, DMUK, SDPI, Manidhaneya Makkal Katchi, Manidhaneya Jananayaka Katchi, Tawheed Jamaat, and Welfare Party of India, and some political parties took part in the demonstration.

The demonstration was presided over by Federation Coordinator A. Sadiq Ali. Coordinator Inayatullah , SDPI State Secretary Raja Hussain, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam State Speaker Rex Rafi, and many others participated and spoke at the event.

One of the speakers said, “There are only 2 terrorist states in this whole world. One is Israel and we are living in the other one, but I won’t call it India”. If there is a terrorist state in this world, the first country is Israel and the second is the one we are living in. I won’t call it India because India has always stood on the side of peace. There have been many Prime Ministers in India, starting from Nehru up to Manmohan Singh, there have been several PMs. None of them went on an official trip to Israel. But Modi went on an official visit to Israel. During his visit, Israel PM Netanyahu said, “We had to wait 70 years for an Indian PM to visit Israel”.

Modi fulfilled the 70-year longing of Israel. “It is a blatant and showed the DMK’s hand in the protest. It wants make a full blown communal polarisation in TN ahead of Lok Sabha elections! . The on going ED and IT raids , anti establishment wave, failure to fulfil poll promises, growth of BJP have made them to act like this”, says journalist Praveen.

The participants condemned the Indian government for supporting the Israeli government and urged the handover of occupied Palestinian territories to the appropriate people. It is pertinent to mention here that terror attacks in Tamil Nadu have predominantly taken place in Coimbatore – the 1998 serial blasts and the blast near Kottai Easwaran Temple in 2022.

While the DMK government denied permission to RSS to take out its annual Route March on October 22 and 29, despite the Madras High Court and Madurai bench directed Police to give permission. RSS has issued contempt of court notices to TN government Home secretary, DGP and SPs of concerned districts. It is coming up for hearing on 30th when the court reopens after dasara holidays.
