Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA) discussed how to preserve, protect and promote Janjati culture and customs in a three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarta meeting at Rashtriya Vidya Kendra, Annojiguda, Bhagyanagar in Hyderabad. The meeting began on October 6 with a ceremonial lighting by Pujya Swami Sri Kamalananda Bharati Ji.

Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarta welcomed the recently passed Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Parliament.

Guiding All the Way

The annual meeting, held at Bhagyanagar, was attended by functionaries working on national, zonal and provincial levels. It saw a notable gathering comprising 717 members – 597 men and 120 women. During this three-day meeting, various issues were discussed and participants received guidance from resource persons in various sessions.The VKA functionaries present in the meeting included Shri Ramchandra Kharadi (President), Shri Satendra Singh (Vice President), Shri HK Nagu, Yogesh Bapat (General Secretary) and Atul Jog (Organising Secretary). Mananeeya Shri Ram Datta Ji, Sah Sarkaryawah of the RSS, also participated in the meeting. Shri Bikram Bahadur Jamatia, a recipient of Padmashree Award from Tripura, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Accolades for Conducting G20 Summit

On October 5, a National Executive meeting was held, in which several social issues were discussed and a resolution was passed congratulating the Government of Bharat for its success in conducting the G20 Summit. The three-day meeting welcomed the recently passed Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Parliament. To mark the occasion of the 500th birth anniversary of Gond Rani Durgavathi, it was decided to organise various programmes. Screening of a documentary on Rani Durgavati was a special attraction.

The meetings also discussed the need to organise different activities for women’s empowerment. It was decided to observe ‘Janjati Gourva Diwas’ on November 15. A special issue of vanupunyayi magazine was released on this occasion.

A book titled Hindu ke Keltik Swajan’ was also launched. While Maj SN Mathur, Jaipur, wrote the book, it was published by Prabhat Prakashan Delhi. Recently, the VKA documented stories of 75 tribal freedom fighters on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. At present, Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA) runs 22,152 projects at 17,394 places. An exhibition depicting all the activities and progress of VKA was appreciated by everyone. Colourful traditional dances were presented in the cultural programme.
