New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on October 16 slammed the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government over the condition of the Yamuna River and said that CM Kejriwal has killed the river.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and party leader Manoj Tiwari visited Yamuna Ghat in Kalindi Kunj to assess the pollution situation ahead of the Chhath puja.

“Arvind Kejriwal has actually killed Yamuna. This water is in such a situation that if somebody puts their hands in it, they will fall sick. During Chhath puja, what will happen to those who take a dip in this water? There should be a criminal case against Arvind Kejriwal”, the BJP chief said.

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari also hit out at the Delhi government over the pollution in the Yamuna River and said that the Chief Minister and his party have made this water poisonous.

“We inspected the Yamuna Ghat ahead of the Chhatt Puja, women take a dip in this water and Arvind Kejriwal and his party have made this water poisonous. This is a big crime, we will convey this to higher authorities and will request the Supreme Court also to take cognisance of this ahead of the Chhath puja.” Tiwari said.

Manoj Tiwari also urged the Supreme Court to take cognisance of the matter. “Today, on October 16 2023, I visited Kalindi Kunj Yamuna river bank with Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva and inspected the river. Arvind Kejriwal is serving poison to Delhi. Honourable Supreme Court should take cognisance,” he said in a post on X in Hindi.

“The biggest thing is that cows also drink water from here. It will not only affect cows, but will also affect the people who drink the milk of these cows. This is an example of why the life expectancy of people in Delhi is so low,” he added. He also posted a video where he could be seen riding in a boat over the frothy Yamuna with Sachdeva, assessing the pollution situation in the river.

The 4-day festival of Chhath is one of the major festivals of India. This festival is celebrated in most parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and also in some parts of Nepal. The festival is dedicated to worshipping the Sun to seek blessings and praying to keep the family healthy and wealthy. (With Inputs ANI)
