A large number of Hindu girls, mostly belong to the marginalised section are kidnapped at gunpoint by the Islamitts and later tortured for days until they succumb to the pressure and accept their new Islamic identity.

A 11 year old Hindu girl, hailing from Tando Allahyar under Umerkot district in Pakistan was abducted at gunpoint by a Islamist more than twice her age. The minor Hindu girl identified as Jiji bheel, a resident of Tando Allahyar village of Sindh province (a notorious region for abduction, rapes and Nikaah after forced conversion of minority Hindu girls) was abducted by a 28 year old Azim Ghumrani.

As per the information shared by a few social media handles associated with the minority rights in Pakistan, the girl was later arrested by the Umerkot police and brought to the police station. Now after the abduction it is being speculated that the girl would meet the similar fate of forced conversion and Nikaah cum slavery in the coming months.

The horrific development occurred exactly a week after another minor Hindu girl identified as Ekta Kumari Sonaro was abducted from Kada Bazaar of Karachi of Sindh province. Ekta has been reported to be untraceable since then.

Hindu girls in Sindh province of Pakistan face the atrocities of the Islamists

It is to be noted that the Sindh province of Pakistan has a significant population of Hindus in Umerkot, Ghotki Mirpur khas and adjoining areas from where rampant kidnapping and forced conversions of minority Hindu girls has come to the fore repeatedly.

The region has the notorious Mian Mithoo famed Bharchundi Sharif Shufi Shrine in Ghotki, an alleged power center for carrying out organised abduction and forced conversion of minority Hindu girls of adjoining areas. Another Sufi Shrine Pir Ayub Jan Sarhandi in Samarao has also been alleged for promoting organised crimes against the minority Hindu girls and their conversion.

It is estimated by some rights groups that around at least 1000 Hindus girls have been abducted and forcefully converted to Islam after being sexually exploited by their abductors. However Hindu groups and their leaders in Pakistan feared that the actual number pertaining to abduction and assault on Hindu girls is even higher given the fact that most of the victims are from the poor marginalized section of the society and many cases go unreported.

The Pakistani government on the other hand who otherwise has championed itself in the propaganda pertaining to human rights of Muslims (majority) in Jammu and Kashmir has done little to the cause of safeguarding their own minorities especially the organised crimes against the minority Hindu girls in Sindh.

Modus operandi of the radical Islamists against Hindu minor girls

The alarming rate in which the minority Hindu girls are being kidnapped and forcibly converted to Islam suggests that a bigger conspiracy is at play in the Sindh province. Additionally, mere case studies of a handful of fateful incidents occurred in the region can unmask the pattern in which these girls are converted and are forcibly enslaved.

It is vivid from the pattern that after identifying the victim, the powerful landlords or the groups promoted by radicals like Mian Mithoo forcibly abduct the victims at gunpoint or any other forcible means. After the abduction, the victim is subjected to sexual exploitation and mental torture by the accused following which they are forced to sign the copy of Nikaahnama.

Once the Nikahnama is signed the victim becomes a legal wife of one of her abductors, as the very law shields the perpetrator from being tried before the law even if the victim Hindu girl is a minor prior to her conversion in captivity. Further, in case if the victim’s family approach the police and pressure is exerted on the police to catch the culprits, the girls even after they are recovered are sent to shelters home instead of their parents.

The girl staying at the government owned shelter home provides another opportunity for her powerful perpetrators to further pressurize the victim to accept her fate with her new identity, sometimes the girl is also threatened to face dire consequences if she refused to co-operate. Such girls are threatened that her other member of her family could also be harmed.

Abducted, raped and mentally exhausted by the unbearable torture the victim sometimes accepts the her fate and informes the concerned magistrate about her willingness to stay with her exploiter cum husband under her newly given Islamic identity. Those who resist the torture and intend to fightback are sent to back to stay at the shelter home. These girls either break down at some point of time or they return to her parents if she is fortunate enough.

Alarming rise in such cases of atrocities against Hindu girls

In the recent few months a dozen cases related to the persecution of minority Hindu girls have already come to the light from the Sindh province which describes the gravity of the situation. Here are the details of a few :-

Earlier before the abduction of Jiji Bheel, a thirteen year girl identified as Shanti Kohli from the Hyderabad region of Sindh province was abducted and converted to to Islam.

A sixteen year old minor Hindu girl identified as Maryam Kohli, a resident of Pithora was abducted by local residents identified as Mohammad Kanbhar, Mushtaq Leghari and Yusuf Nohri near her school in Mirpur Khas.

The girl was abducted when she was on her way to her school with his brother when the Islamist who arrived on motorbikes and a car abducted her at gunpoint. Maryam was later married to one of her abductors Mohammad Yusuf, a resident of Village Haji Jafar of Pithora on August 05.

Fifteen year old girl identified as Sanam Meghwar, a resident of Benazir colony of Kunbh city was abducted and married to one of her abductors identified as Mukhtar Galal.

Earlier three daughters of Leelaram Meghwar, a resident of Daharki Sadiqabad were kidnapped and later converted to Islam at the residence of Miyan Mithoo. In a viral video the girls can be heard reciting the Islamic verses directed by Mithoo. (Watch the video here https://youtu.be/VC71jVOvrxg)

In another case a Hindu girl reportedly abducted from Sukkur and then married to one Muhammad Raza Qureshi after being converted to Islam.

The cases mentioned above are among those which have occurred only in the last two months and there is an endless list of those who fall prey to the stratagem of the radical Islamist. The list also includes a number of married Hindu women who met the same fate by the hands of radicals.

To conclude, it shall not be an exaggeration to say that the Hindus in Pakistan who constitute a mere 2% of the population of the Islamic republic of Pakistan are under severe threat posed by the radical Islamist. Their daughters are being abducted and raped while the defenders of the so-called democracy on the other side of the borders are watching it as mute spectators, as the cries of the Hindu girls falling on their deaf ears every other day.
