A minor girl, who is a student of class 9th was shot by a miscreant following a heated exchange between them a day before, in Ara town of Bhojpur district on August 9, the police stated. The victim girl was immediately rushed to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

The horrific incident occurred a day after the girl got involved in a heated dual with one of the boys of a group who passed lewd comments at her when the latter was returning from school. It was reported that the boys threatened the girl with dire consequences after she opposed the harassment.

On the next day, the girl, a resident of Mahadev locality, was returning home on foot when she was shot in the afternoon near Nawada Chowk, a busy corner of the Ara town. The girl was shot at her waist and sustained serious injuries following which she was rushed to the hospital by the locals.

“A student of class 9th of B.D public school has been shot by a boy near Nawada Chowk, the girl possibly had a verbal exchange with the same miscreant a day before the incident however the matter was not reported to the police, the girl is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.Learning about the incident a team led by an ASI has been formed and efforts are on to nab the accused”, informed  Bhojpur police in a series of tweets.

Meanwhile, highlighting another incident of a man being allegedly burnt in Katihar, the state unit of the BJP tweeted that law and order in Bihar has collapsed, a man has been burnt alive, think what is the value of a common man in the grand alliance government ?

It is pertinent to mention here that the state is witnessing a recent surge in the crimes as a number of incidents pertaining to murder and violence against women have come to the fore lately, following which the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been alleging that the Nitish Kumar led government has failed measurably in containing the spurt in crime.

Let us tell you that earlier in a horrifying incident a woman from Araria was raped by three miscreants while her husband was being tied to a tent peg. In another incident reported from the state, a girl along with his music teacher was also thrashed by a group of people after they found them in an objectionable position.
