Following the arrest of Kerala PFI man Ashif, the fundraiser of the outfit, from the Sathyamangalam forests in Tamil Nadu and five other terrorists from Karnataka, now NIA is reportedly looking for Nabeel, another Kerala PFI terrorist. Nabeel is reported to be the man-in-charge of recruitment of new activists to PFI. NIA has reportedly found out that Ashif and Nabeel were in constant touch regarding recruitment and funding.
Also, there are reports that 30 other PFI activists are under surveillance.
Terrorist Ashif had reportedly told NIA, during interrogation, that RSS leaders and NIA officers were in their hit list. Ashif is the second accused in the Pavaratti Baiju murder case. Baiju was a Hindu Aikyavedi worker in Pavaratty, Thrissur district. PFI terrorists killed Baiju in 2008 and they carried out a march in Pavaratty after the murder.
It is revealed that Ashif was in constant touch with the IS leaders in Syria. He got terror training from Syria. Ashif was a terror trainer of PFI and the conspiracy to kill RSS leaders and NIA workers was hatched near Kochi. The vital information was revealed during the interrogation. PFI activities are quite similar to those of IS and its modalities of preparing hit lists. Terror training camps were carried out in the forests of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
NIA interrogation reveals that terrorists had taken hayath (oath) for carrying out terror activities. The oath was taken to execute terror actions at the fixed spots in Kerala according to the fixed time frame. IED bomb experiments, using plaster of paris, were carried out in this regard.
NIA looks for Sirajudheen also who is a co-terrorist of those who were arrested from Tamil Nadu. But, there are reports that he had fled for Syria.
Ashif had reportedly told the NIA, during the interrogation, that he got attracted to IS during his employment in the Gulf. And, he started to work with the like-minded people there.
