On June 24, the Epifani School in Kanpur Nagar organised a medical camp, wherein oil and medicine were expected to be distributed among patients. However, the event turned out to be a religious gathering where prayers were recited amid chants of Haleluya.

One of the Bajrang Dal activists also joined the meeting and exposed the organisers. Following his objection an FIR was also registered against the culprits, however, no action has been taken against them to date.

On June 24, Narendra Parmar, a resident of the civil lines area of Kanpur registered a complaint against the organisers of the event at Colonelganj police station. In his complaint, Parmar told the police that, on June 24 one of his friends Shivam informed him about a medical event to be organised at epifany school near apollo hospital in chunniganj area. The organisers promised that they can cure any disease. They also promised all the expenses from food to travel will be covered by the managers.

In the event some oil was distributed among the people with envelopes, some had cash and some did not. Some of the event volunteers, all Christians took Hindus aside and told them about their religion.

Offering the money envelopes they said, “In the next event you will get so much money that you cannot even imagine, it can make you rich and healthy”.

As per the FIR the police booked the accused under sections 3/ 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act.

On June 27, Parmar told Organiser that, Epiphany is a private missionary school located in the zone 2 block of Kanpur Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 8. The school is Co-educational and it doesn’t have an attached pre-primary section.

On the day of the event, one of his friends said he was going to attend an event where he will be getting free food, transport and cash as well. Suspicious Parmar also joined him and was stunned to see a religious event at the school.

He said, it had a huge party-like arrangement, there was a big stage, sound boxes, a music system and decoration. It was in no way looking like a medical camp. They entered the venue by 8 pm and the event had just started he added.

Within no time refreshments were served, and a man was speaking about Jesus from the stage, they were saying they can cure every problem of an individual if they repeat after them Haleluya.

After the speech of the guests, they handed over an envelope, Parmar’s envelope had Rs 2,500 cash, the man next to him had Rs 3,000 in his packet and some of the Christians who attended the programme had no money in their envelopes.

Later, they distributed a pack of oil saying this can cure bone-related ailments, paralysis and even cancer. The Jesus has power to cure everything.

A group of volunteers marked people and sat beside them, they talked about religion and after a little chat, they were taking the Hindus to a side where they told good things about becoming a Christian, including the amount of money they can get.

Parmar called his team members and they confronted the locals, who had come from Vijay Nagar, Shashtri Nagar, Vishnupuri, Nawabganj and other nearby areas. Not a single man was present in the event from the local ward or colony, he added.

A video from the event can be seen here.

These were all Hindus, including people from the scheduled caste and tribes. The organisers were trying to bribe the people for conversion. Following the protest, the event was concluded.

Later the FIR was registered and amid rising protests, the police also arrested the principal of the school, who too is a Christian. However, the accused was later released after taking a written obligation or a bond.

Parmar says, it is way bigger than it looks, in the past number of people attending such events was less, for example, back then only one vehicle would stand outside the building said the people but now there were more than five four-wheelers and number of other vehicles standing outside the school.

In April 2023, Organiser reported a similar case of conversion through such event from Madhya Pradesh where a Dalit filed a case against organisers saying, “I will remain a Hindu and will not convert”

Ramesh a resident of Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh in his complaint told the police that, he comes from Bhabor Jati. The villagers Sandhiya Bhabor, Badu Bhabor, Nathu Gundiya, Makna Sigadiya and Kanji Sikadiya all residents of Negadiya and Balwan village are forcing people to convert to Christianity.

On March 25, around 4:30 in the evening Ramesh with his friend Rajesh went to the house of Badu. At that time, Sandiya, Nathu, Makna and others were praying to Jesus. Badu asked them to come and sit in the prayer.

After the prayer, he told Ramesh to come to Christianity as after it he and his family will get free treatment and his children will be sent to good schools, he will not have to worry about the education fees at all.

After this, they sprinkled some water on them and put a cross locket tied in a thread around their neck. Later, they bring a book saying it was Bible and handed it over to Ramesh and Rajesh. Nathu also chanted some of the verses from the book and said, ‘You have become a Christian now’.

He asked them to follow Missionary customs and come to the prayers organised in the Church, every Sunday.

Ramesh was not feeling good about leaving Hinduism and becoming a Christian so coming out of Badu’s house he told Rajesh, “I will remain Hindu and will not become a Christian”. Badu somehow heard it and said, if they will not follow Christianity he will make sure Ramesh is thrown out of the village.

Notably, conversion activities through such events are rising day by day, the target is a vulnerable and weak person. The conversion mafia lures these innocent people either by money, job or by triks like curing the disease and so on.

In May 2023, Organiser compiled a list of tactics opted by the Missionary preachers to convert people. The latest to the list was spreading the message of Jesus in the train, we called it, ‘The Train Story’.

Notably, A video of the incident went viral on social media, where two Hindu women are confronting a missionary preacher who was busy grooming innocent Hindus to convert. In the viral video, the Hindu woman told the preacher, that she knows how missionary conversion activities are rampant in India. She added the preacher should worship their god at their home only, the train is not a place to tell others about god.

The preacher responds by saying, “We are preaching the message of God because we care for Hindus”.

The woman behind the camera tells, “Hindus have gone out of their mind, as they believe in frauds like you to give up their Sanatan Dharma. It is high time, we Hindus are already fighting for our existence, we will not let you run your propaganda in public places.”

She added, “Have you ever seen a Sanatani spreading his religion, forcing his religious beliefs on others like you are doing, Do not take benefit of our silence”.

“We have 108 Crore gods and goddesses in our Dharma, we don’t need any other deity to worship. You, people,

are running your propaganda in exchange for money. This is not allowed in the constitution, don’t brainwash innocent Hindus stop this,” the woman said.

In this story, we listed as many as seven tricks used by missionary preachers in India to lure innocent Hindus. Readers can go through the report here.
