“Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a Pakistani drone on June 12 on the outskirt of Shaidpur Kalan village, district – Amritsar. The recovered drone is a Quadcopter of model DJI Matrice 300 RTK series”, the official said.

More details are awaited.

Earlier on June 10, BSF troops disabled another attempt at drug smuggling from Pakistan to India. This came days after recovering a Pakistani drone carrying narcotics in Punjab.

Earlier on June 7 and in the intervening night of June 8 and June 9, the BSF recovered a Pakistani drone along the International Border in the Amritsar sector. BSF troops heard a mild buzzing sound of a suspected drone near Bhaini Rajputana village of Amritsar district and immediately reacted to intercept it.

The BSF troop found the suspected material during their subsequent search of the area. Soldiers found one large packet, wrapped in a yellow color adhesive tape from the farming field on the outskirts of Village Rai. The tape was attached with a hook.

The team was joined by the police in the search operation. A green colour nylon rope and a hook attached to the packet were also found.

During the search, 1 big packet, suspected to be contraband, wrapped in a yellow-coloured adhesive tape along with 1 green colour nylon rope and hook attached to the packet was recovered from the farming field on the outskirts of Rear Kakkar. On the opening of the packet, 5 packets of heroin with a gross weight of 5.260 kgs was found,” the BSF Punjab Frontier said in a statement.

On May 3, the BSF intercepted a Pakistani drone infiltrating twice into the Bhariyal post of the forces in Punjab and forced it to retreat.

Earlier on April 30, BSF troops recovered 2.5 kg of heroin dropped by a Pakistani drone, which had entered into the Indian territory near Setha Wala village in Punjab.

In November last year, the BSF has shot down a drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the Ferozepur district in Punjab.
