The significant factor in choosing the right branch of engineering lies in the wide range of job opportunities and options in the future. Choosing Electronics Engineering undoubtedly offers graduates a wide range of job options, from designing, developing, and applying electrical, electromagnetic, and electronic equipment and systems. As we can see recently, technologies like 5G communication technology, drone technology, robotics, automation of production units, IoT (Internet of Things) and control-power systems are creating more than a few million jobs as well as have boosted GDP (Gross Domestic Product) to the next level. When a student decides to pursue a career in this field, it simultaneously opens possibilities in allied fields like computer science, information technology and electrical engineering. As technology advances and reaches new heights in the years to come, every industry will require the services of a competent electronics engineer. Ajit Manocha, head of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), an apex group representing the semiconductor industry, said India was ‘zero’ in this sector a year and a half ago. At the same time, by 2024, there will be 100 semiconductor design startups in India, and the government is giving an incentive scheme of Rs 76,000 crore for making chips will be a great leap forward for the Indian semiconductor industry to empower immense talent.

Top 5 Career options for Electronics Engineering Students:

Telecom Engineers

Today, every telecom company in India is competing for better 5G coverage for faster internet, and the more towers they put up in every corner of the country, the more telecom engineers they need. The use of high-speed internet in smart mobile phones will continue to grow, bringing a greater demand for seamless connectivity. Telecome is one area where there will rarely be a dearth of jobs and a degree from one of the best B. Tech colleges will prepare any student in every way.

Drone Engineer

The future of drone technology and robotics is expected to be full of exciting advances and applications. Here are some of the significant trends and possibilities for the future, such as autonomous drones with artificial intelligence capable of performing complex tasks, such as autonomous delivery, surveillance, and inspection, without constant human supervision.

Robotics Engineer

Future robots will have better sensors and perception systems, enabling them to interact with humans more safely and effectively, assisting in tasks such as remote patient monitoring, surgical procedures, precision farming, crop monitoring and automated spraying. In comparison, future robots will have better sensors and perception systems, enabling them to interact with humans more safely and effectively, assisting in tasks such as remote patient monitoring, surgical procedures, precision farming, crop monitoring and automated spraying. Hence, there is much potential for the youth in this field in the coming times.

Power Systems Engineer

An electronics engineer can help increase transmission efficiency, which is a fundamental requirement of future smart cities, which provides a fair opportunity to each engineer for the advancement of this sector.

Semiconductor Engineer

The demand for semiconductor chips continues to rise, driven by technological advancements such as artificial intelligence, 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and autonomous vehicles. This demand creates a strong job market for professionals in semiconductor fabrication. Keeping track of industry trends and opportunities is essential to align youths’ skills and career paths accordingly.
