A man booked for harassing a woman by flashing his genitals and masturbating inside a public transport gets a heroic welcome in Kerala. On May 20, Organiser reported this case from Thrissur to Kochi where a woman behind camera confronted a bearded man for misbehaving with her in a public transport. Following her compliant, the accused man identified as Savad Sha was arrested by the police. Recently, he was released on bail and received a rousing welcome.

The incident came to light after the girl, Nanditha, took to social media to talk about the incident and posted a video of the incident that she shot.

Nanditha was on her way from Thrissur to Kochi when Savad boarded the bus and sat on a reserved women’s seat next to Nanditha. Soon, the man started touching her inappropriately.

Apparently, he also started touching himself inappropriately after unzipping his pants. At this point, she got up, confronted the man, and recorded the incident with her mobile phone camera. ( watch the video here )

On June 3, the All Kerala Men’s Association (AKMA) felicitated Savad Sha, accused of flashing and masturbating in front of women on a bus, as he walked out of jail on bail. Before the release, AKMA President Vattiyoorkavu Ajith Kumar said that his organization will welcome the 28-year-old currently in the Aluva Sub-jail with a garland when he walks out on bail.

“Initially, everyone including us was supporting the complainant. But later we realised that it was an evil scheme by the woman who has destroyed the life of a young man. This should not happen to any other men in Kerala,” Ajit Kumar said in his video.

Additionally, Ajith Kumar asserted that the woman, with the intention of gaining publicity and increasing her social media following, had uploaded an edited video on Instagram. He claimed that the complainant woman has disappeared after her ill will was exposed. (Watch the video here)

Savad Sha, hailing from Kozhikode, was taken into custody on May 18 following a complaint filed by Nandita Sankara, an actor and model.
