He was 66. He was being treated for a long time after he met with an accident on September 3, 2022. Since then, his health was continuously deteriorating.

Jayant Sahasrabuddhe played a vital role in expanding Vijnana Bharati’s work globally. From the beginning, he selflessly started working for the motherland. He worked a lot for India, science. He successfully brought the role of Indian Scientists in the country’s independence before the people

After completing BSc in Tech (Electronics) from Mumbai University, he worked at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). As his family already had a long association with RSS, in 1989, he became Sangh Pracharak and served in Maharashtra. From 2002 to 2009, he was Vibhag Pracharak of Goa, and later he remained Prant Pracharak of Konkan Prant.

Since 2009, he had the responsibility of All-India National Organising Secretary of Vijnana Bharati. Many initiatives of Vigyan Bharati, like Viddyarthi Vigyan Manthan, Tech for Seva, IISF, Vishva ved Vigyan Sammelan, Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan etc., were being guided by him. Soft spoken, yet a great orator, Jayantji was extremely disciplined in both his personal and public life. Active every moment of wakeful hours, he was traveling across the country, covering around 600 kms a day for many years now spreading the message of Vijnana Bharati,” said Vijnana Bharati

“We are extremely saddened to learn about the untimely demise of Shri Jayant Sahasrabuddhe Ji, senior RSS pracharak and All-India Organising Secretary of Vijnana Bharati. In Jayant Ji’s passing away, the nation has lost a vibrant nationalist-intellectual and an organiser par excellence.A man full of energy, ideas, creative conviction, Shri Jayant Ji connected across all age-groups and disciplines. His scientific knowledge and intellectual prowess enabled him to become an excellent organiser among the scientific community. He made immense contribution to the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme. He has been a guiding light and inspiration for many scientific and technological institutes and groups. Even though he lived a very short life, as an organiser and thinker, he has left behind an unparalleled legacy, which will be remembered forever,” said Prajna Pravah in a statement
