On April 24, Indian rapper and singer Badshah issued an apology on Instagram for hurting the sentiments of some people with the release of his latest track, “Sanak.”

On his Instagram handle, the Rapper wrote, “It has been brought to my attention that one of my recent releases, Sanak, sadly seems to have hurt the sentiments of some people. I would never willingly or unknowingly cause offence to anyone’s sentiments. I bring my artistic creations and musical compositions to you, my fans, with the utmost sincerity and passion”.

The Rapper also said that he would remove and amend the lyrics of his new release, “In light of this recent development, I have taken proactive measures to change some parts of the song and actioned the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms to further avoid hurting anyone”.

He added that “The replacement process takes a few days before the changes will reflect on all platforms, I request everyone to be patient during this period. I humbly offer my sincerest apologies to those whom I may have unknowingly hurt. My fans remain my bedrock, and I shall always hold them in the highest esteem and with boundless affection”.

The singer acknowledged his mistake and apologised for the same. The song was released last month in March and has crossed over 22 million views, but it also irked many people.

The English translation of the objectionable lyrics goes like this, “Where can I be like you? You lick b*lls, I keep asking for the universe from the almighty, Sometimes I share sex, and sometimes I share knowledge, I keep tearing the A*s whoever get jealous of me, I keep giving hit song one after another, Í stays awake 3 nights in a row, I get along well with Lord Shiva (Bholenath), He is fond of make other dance and I keep dance on his beats”.
The Rapper uses objectional words alongside the name of Bhagwan Shiva in the song, which irked people.

The senior priest of Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, had objections to the lyrics of the song and blamed the Rapper for using the name of Bhagwan Shiva along with the obscene words used in the song.
The priest Mahesh went further and threatened to lodge an FIR against the Rapper if the god’s name was not removed from the song’s lyrics.

Reacting to the criticism, Badashah decided to change the lyrics because he believes that his fans are something he holds in high regard and esteem.

Badshah had recently denied wedding rumours with Isha Rikhi in another note on Instagram. He clarified that he was not getting married and that whoever was feeding such information to the media needed to find a better “masala.” Badshah was previously married to Jasmine, but the pair parted ways in 2020, and they have a daughter named Jessemy Grace Masih Singh.
