Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) is burning. First, the suspicious death of a seven-year-old girl in the name of human sacrifice in Tiljala called for violence. Then successive attacks on Ram Navami processions in Howrah. Later the Friday Frenzy mob target Hindu residential spaces in the city and now visuals of arson came up from Hoogly.

In place of monitoring the situation and nabbing the culprits, Mamata is busy peddling lies. Ignoring hundreds of visual she can be seen saying, the minority community are not involved in the violence as they were busy with the Ramzan.

She alleged that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) ‘Goons’ have planned the attack.

News agency ANI quoted Dilip Ghosh, BJP national Vice President on April 2, “Stone pelted on women and children during the Shobha yatra. State govt is taking no action even after Howrah’s violence. Stones are being pelted & vehicles are being vandalised”

“I was there when stones were hurled at us. I have full faith in the police but they couldn’t do anything. Stones were thrown close to my car as well. The state government is taking no action even after the violence in Howrah. Vehicles are being vandalised,” said Ghosh.

Notably, Arson & violence erupt in Hooghly during Ram Navami Shobhayatra at Rishra.

The police said clashes broke out around 6 pm during a Ram Navami procession in Rishra area of Hooghly. Two Ram Navami processions were organised in the area, and the second one was targeted near Wellington Jute Mill More at GT Road around 6.15 pm, (PTI).

“Police are doing route march, and prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 have been imposed in Rishra wards 1-5 and Serampore’s ward 24. Internet services will remain suspended in parts of Rishra and Serampore till 10 pm on Monday,” PTI quoted the police officer.

In a statement, Governor C V Ananda Bose said the state is determined to put an end to the violence and added “mobocracy cannot derail democracy”.

“The miscreants, hooligans, and thugs will be crushed with an iron hand. They will be made to curse the day they were born. Mobocracy cannot derail democracy. We are determined, the state is determined to put an end to this arson and looting,” he said.

The attack’s in Howrah and Shibpur

First, the peaceful Ram Navami Shobha Yatra was targeted by an Islamist mob leaving several injured on March 30. And On March 31, after Friday prayers (Jumme Ki Namaz) mobsters targeted Hindu residential colonies in the Sandhya Bazar and Shibpura area of the city.

Shocking visuals from the attack after Friday prayers show the administration as mute spectators. In these clips a large crowd of people wearing skullcaps can be seen running towards a residential colony in Sandhya Bazar area. They hurled slogans like ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ and attacked the Hindu families living in the colony.

Situation is completely out of control in Howrah. Mobs turn violent. After attack on Ramnavami Shobha Yatra, fresh violence erupts in Shibpur area of Howrah. Media has been attacked. The mob is well equipped with sticks and stones. In a different video, the attackers can be seen hitting the doors to break them and barge into the houses.

Apart from the violent mob, the police officials can be seen standing idle as mute spectators. The clip shows Rapid Action Force (RAF) officials were standing near the colony where the mobsters barged in, but they did not dare to stop them.

A similar attack was launched at the Shibpur area of Howrah where Islamists after ‘Jumme Ki Namaz’ attacked Hindus living there. The aggression comes a day after Ram Navami procession was targeted in Howrah.

Minor girl rape-murder

A minor girl was murdered by her neighbour in the name of human sacrifice. The man allegedly strangled the seven-year-old on the advice of a Tantrik on March 26. The minor was allegedly raped by the accused before the murder.

Soon after the murder was reported and the accused was identified the locals began protesting.  Residents also vandalised several vehicles, alleging “delay” in police action to find the missing girl. Three people, including a woman, were detained for their involvement in the vandalism.

Mamata’s ignorance

She is making baseless allegations against volunteers of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) stating the attacks were planted by ‘BJP hired goons’.

“I have been busy protesting against lack of funds from the Centre for the last 48 hours, but I will ensure that the culprits get punished,” Mamata Banerjee said, urging people to maintain peace.

“One can easily understand the people who started the violence were not localities. They were hired by the BJP and were carrying guns and petrol bombs. They first attacked people from the minority communities,” she alleged.

“ We never stopped any community to hold any event. It is highly unlikely that the minority groups could have started the clashes as they are busy with Ramzan prayers” she added.

On March 30, the Shobha Yatra day Mamata said, “I want to request those who are taking out Ram Navmi procession, please do but do it peacefully. Kindly avoid Muslim areas as Ramzan is going on. Celebrate peacefully but don’t try to create violence. Don’t get provoked. Some BJP leaders are saying they will move with swords and knives during the procession. I say criminal offence is an offence”.
