A case was registered at the Roravar police station of the Aligarh District. Citing the seriousness of the matter, the police arrested the accused immediately.

As per the Superintendent of Police (SP City) Aligarh, Kuldeep Singh Gudavat, the victim’s father registered a complaint against cleric Noman alleging sexual abuse. The minor underwent a detailed medical test and soon the accused was arrested.

As per the media reports, Noman is a resident of Muzaffarnagar and teaches at Arbia Mufkta Uloom madrasa. He lives at the madrasa only with other children, in the absence of teachers he takes junior classes.

On March 27, Noman held a 14-year-old boy who was sleeping in the room at the madrasa. Later he assaulted him sexually and threatened him of dire consequences if he dare tell anyone.

The next day, on March 28, the minor boy reached home, and he was upset. The family members questioned him politely, after which he broke his silence and shared everything to his parents.

As soon as the victim’s father learned the truth, he reached the police station and registered a complaint against the accused.

Notably, the locals also thrashed the accused Noman upon learning the truth.

In December 2022, an Ulema at the madarsa raped a 12-year-boy at the Sarai Rohella area. The accused cleric sedated the minor and indulged in unnatural sex with him on multiple occasions.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) took up the matter as, the chairperson Kanoongo Priyank told media, “On reports of a minor’s rape in a madrasa, we visited the place. A teacher is alleged to have committed the offence. It’s an unrecognised madrasa. A total of 24 children from Bihar and UP stayed there along with teachers. The madrasa did not even have basic facilities such as separate toilets,” he said.

“Delhi government has neither taken action nor sent the Child Welfare Committee to the spot. We directed the Child Welfare Committee to visit this place so that the children there can be rescued and rehabilitated at the earliest. The victim’s social investigation report has also been sought for from the Delhi government,” Kanoongo further informed.

The principal of the madrasa told, “Four to five days earlier, a teacher noticed on CCTV that someone was trying to cover the camera. As everyone reached the spot, we saw a student lying on a bed. A madrassa teacher was also near him and said the student was running high fever. We asked the teacher to leave for not informing others about the boy’s condition,” he said.
