To provide guests and customers with a vivid, diverse and thriving cultural glimpse of the Indian subcontinent and its natural beauty, India has developed an 18-suite state-of-the-art boutique luxury riverboat called Ganga Vilas.

It is the longest river waterway cruise in the world, covering 27 rivers and a distance of 3000 miles (5000kms) across India and Bangladesh. The route connects the Ganga River with the Brahmaputra via Bangladesh and traverses both the Indo-Gangetic and Bengal Plains.

It also gives the guests a rare chance to access pristine visas untouched by pollution and mass tourism, along with several immersive experiences.

It can exclusively cater to thirty-six guests. The eighteen suites are divided and split into two decks. Eight suites are located on the main deck, and ten are on the upper deck. It features a vibrant modern décor inspired by the 1950s art scene depicting the Partition of British India in 1947.

The ship follows sustainable principles at its core. The Ganga Vilas has pollution-free mechanisms and noise control technologies as a symbol of honouring the rivers.

To cater to the wishes of the guests, there are a significant number of industry-trained crew and butlers. There are board massage rooms, cultural talks, and cooking classes which further entertain the guests.

The tour includes a visit to Varanasi, which holds the magnificent and world-famous “Ganga Aarti”. It also covers Sarnath, where the Buddha delivered his first sermon after his enlightenment.

Additionally, it also encompasses flora fauna and wildlife species. For example, the tour includes Kaziranga National Park (famous for its one-horned rhinoceros) and the Sundarbans (known for its Royal Bengal Tigers). Other species include Asian Elephant, Swamp Deer and Wild Water Buffalo.

Another important landmark is the village of Mayong in Assam. This place is known for witchcraft, black magic, tantric rituals. The trip will also take guests to Majuli (River Island) in the Brahmaputra River. This place is known for its several 15th-century old monasteries each having its principles and devotional practices.

There are scores of travellers and tourists that wish to prefer shorter itineraries. There are a few provisions for them, such as a fifty-night itinerary in two parts— a twenty-night itinerary portion from Varanasi to Kolkata and vice versa.

There is an additional provision: a thirty-night provision from Kolkata to Sivsagar or vice versa and via Bangladesh along the Hooghly, Brahmaputra and other rivers. To conclude, it can be said that this lavish and all-inclusive cruise, along with its hospitality, will surely turn out to be a long-lasting and unforgettable experience for the guests and the people on board the cruise.
