Government is working to make country free from Naxal problem before Parliamentary Polls 2024: Home Minister Amit Shah

"The Narendra Modi led government had taken several initiatives in the Maoist affected zone which are now yielding the desired outcome," said Shah, adding that the Naxal-related incident came down to 509 in 2021 from an all-time high of 2258 in 2009

In a sharp message to the Communist terrorists, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 7 asserted that efforts are on to fully contain the Left Wing Extremism before the Parliamentary Elections of 2024.

Addressing a large gathering in the power city of Chhattisgarh (Korba), Shah said that the incidents related to Left Wing Extremism had decreased sharply. “The Narendra Modi-led government had taken several initiatives in the Maoist affected zone which are now yielding the desired outcome,” said Shah, adding that the Naxal-related incident came down to 509 in 2021 from an all-time high of 2258 in 2009.

We provided job opportunities to the youths who were earlier left with their fate; these opportunities dealt firmly with the hollow ideology of Maoists, added Shah.

Pointing out the role of the Government in uplifting the tribal society of the country, Shah said that the congress merely talked about the upliftment of backward classes though their actions never matched their promises. The BJP-led Government took several initiatives to uplift the marginal classes, constituted a national commission for the backward classes, and ensured that their constitutional rights should be protected, said the home minister.

In his speech, Shah also attacked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and asked can the Chief Minister explain to us what he or his party has done so far for the tribal society. Have they ever nominated someone from the tribal community for president as we did? Concluded Shah.

Earlier in the day, Shah also held a similar rally in the insurgency-hit Chai basa region of Jharkhand and attacked the Hemant Soren-led Government for not safeguarding the rights of the tribal community.

Launching a series of attacks on the JMM-led alliance of the State to which congress is also a part of, Shah said that the infiltrators are capturing the land of the tribals while the state government is busy in wide-scale corruption.

Shah said that the land of the tribals are being encroached but the Government has taken an anti-tribal stance thanks to their vote bank policy, now the true face of this Government has been exposed and the people of Jharkhand will never forgive the people who have cheated with the tribal community.

Shah also alleged the Soren Government for an anti-development stance; when the BJP Government was voted to power, we have started several projects of development, but the Soren Government has destroyed the initiatives taken by us, is this the state people of Jharkhand dreamt of when Atal ji separated it from Bihar, asked Shah.

With this Government at the helm of affairs, the time has come for the land grabbers. They are encroaching the lands of the common people. I appeal to the people of the Jharkhand to vote against the misdeed of this Government, concluded Shah.

It should be noted that earlier in the day, the Union Home Minister also interacted with the party workers from the State, in which almost all the party’s big names were in counting, including the former CM Raghubar Das.

With these two rallies at the tribal heartland, Amit Shah has started the campaign for the Lok Sabha election of 2024, in which the BJP has vowed to score good despite being in the opposition at the state level.
