An attempt of converting a poor Hindu family to Christianity was foiled by alert citizens at Alandi near Pune city. The family has lodged a complaint against three persons, who tried to convert them.

The shocking incident took place at Alandi, Pune, a holy town where Sant Dnyaneshwar took samadhi. Lakhs of warkaries visit Alandi every year. Alandi police are investigating the complaint, but nobody has been arrested so far.

A video has gone viral on social media, which shows a woman asking a group of people to pray. She is holding a holy book in her hand. A young man is seen objecting to distribute the ‘blood of Jesus Christ’, which is served in a plastic glass. The man is seen asking to prove that red water was the ‘blood of Jesus Christ’. Two women, who are seen conducting the prayer meeting are seen arguing with the man. The man is also seen saying that they were spreading superstitions. The incident took place on January 1 at 7 pm.

On January 4, Uddhav Nagnath Kambale (48), a resident of Sathe Nagar on Aland-Pimpri-Chinchwad road, approached Alandi police station and lodged a complaint against three persons. Uddhav Kambale has specifically named one Sudhakar Bapburao Suryvanshi, a resident of Dhanori Road, along with his two unidentified persons.

According to the complaint lodged by Uddhav Kambale, he is a resident of Bori Village in Umarga tehsil of Latur district. He has come to Alandi with his family for employment. He works as a daily wage worker at Alandi crematorium.

Uddhav Kambale has said in the complaint that Sudhakar Suryavanshi came to Sathe Nagar with the intention of spreading superstition and adopting Christianity. Sudhakar Suryavanshi allegedly told the people in Sathe Nagar that their all diseases would be cured if they worship and pray Jesus Christ. They allegedly also asked the people to throw photographs of all other Gods and worship only Jesus Christ.

Sudhakar Suryavanshi allegedly asked Uddhav Kambale the adoption of Christianity would solve their health and economic problems. They are said to have offered people grape water as the blood of Jesus Christ and were spreading superstitions of Christianity. Sudhakar Suryavanshi and others said that their Gods were much superior while other Gods were evil. Sudhakar Suryavanshi and others told them that they would not need to go to the doctor if they start worshipping Jesus Christ.

According to the complaint, Sudhakar Suryavanshi and others told them that they had better mantras and would make their condition better than earlier. The complainant has said that Sudhakar Suryavanshi and others caused mental harassment and spread wrong information about his religion. The complaint also stated that Sudhakar Suryavanshi and others forced people to conduct Christian prayer.

Uddhav Kambale specified in the complaint that he was pressurised give up his religion and adopt Christianity by spreading superstitions.
