A delegation of students led by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad JNU unit met the Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and asked for action on the recent cases of sexual assaults. They demanded a survey investigation in the cases of sexual harassment in which members of AISA and other Left organizations are accused. They requested the ICC to provide a safe environment for the students of JNU.

Shikha Swaraj, Chhatra Karya Pramukh of ABVP JNU, said that there has been a huge increase in the cases of sexual abuse by Left organizations. In our application to the ICC, we have demanded that workshops should be organized by the ICC from time to time to sensitize the students in JNU. The ICC should try to give justice to the survivors who are braving coming out of the left-wing occupation, she added.

ABVP JNU unit president Rohit Kumar said that the accused of sexual abuse are roaming all over JNU without fear, ICC should take immediate & concrete steps on these subjects and try to make JNU the safest university.

Unit secretary Umesh Chandra Ajmeera said that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad would continue its fight to get justice for all the survivors.
