In a shocking incident, a woman hailing from a village in Raibereilly was given talaq five times by her husband and brother-in-law and was forced to undergo halala twice. The woman revolted and approached the police after her husband forced her to undergo halala with her brother-in-law for the third time.

The complainant has sought action against the accused. The police said they are seeking legal opinion to arrest the accused. Although she had filed a complaint, the police did not arrest the accused. Following this, she approached SSP.

The woman was married off to Arif in April 2015. According to the complaint, her husband started harassing her for dowry after marriage. Instigated by in-laws, her husband pronounced talaq. When she threatened to file a case, the in-laws persuaded her to undergo halala on October 21, 2016, with brother-in-law Jahid. Her brother-in-law kept her almost one year before she was given talaq on March 23, 2017.

After the talaq, she was again married off to Arif. After a few days, Arif again gave her talaq. This time she went to her parents house. After an agreement between the two families, she was asked to undergo a halala with Jahid. Again Jahid gave her talaq, and on February 21, 2021, she was married off to her husband third time.

On March 2022, Arif divorced her again after pronouncing triple talaq. This time she approached the police seeking the arrest of her husband, Jahid, mother-in-law Nasreen, sister-in-law and others.
