Massive controversy erupted on Sunday (May 1) when social media posts of senior AAP leader from Himachal Pradesh, Harpreet Singh Bedi, went viral on different social media platforms.
Bedi, who was social media in charge of AAP Himachal Pradesh, has been a supporter of Khalistan and is demanding Khalistan for a long time.
After massive protests, Bedi deleted his Twitter account. Later, AAP removed him as social media in-charge.
Political commentator Arun Pudur said, “Aam Aadmi Party Himachal Pradesh Social Media president Harpreet Singh Bedi has been supporting Khalistan for over a decade. Anti-Nationalism and Riots are the DNA of AAP. Is this why “Desh Drohi Arvind Kejriwal” trending?”
On Friday (April 29), Khalistanis violently attacked Maa Kali temple in Patiala and raised pro-Khalistan slogans. The Opposition blamed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for giving a free hand to the Khalistanis in Punjab.
Former aide of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Dr Kumar Vishwas has been warning about the separatist tendencies of Kejriwal and how he had no hesitation in taking help from separatists for gaining power in Punjab.
On February 16, just before the Punjab polls, Dr Vishwas had said that Arvind Kejriwal wanted to be the first prime minister of Khalistan. He had also said that he had warned Kejriwal against taking help from Khalistanis in the last assembly elections in 2017. But Kejriwal did not oblige Dr Vishwas.
In a further revelation, Dr Vishwas said that he was shocked when he saw that Kejriwal was meeting Khalistani separatists at his residence in 2016. He had told Kejriwal that you’re playing with fire and it will cost very dearly.
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab and national spokesperson of the party, Raghav Chadha had threatened media houses with legal action if they telecast the said interview of Dr Vishwas.
In a series of posts on Twitter, Chadha had said, “Malicious, unfounded, fabricated, inflammatory insinuations made by Mr. Vishwas are not only demonstrably defamatory but is redolent of promoting hatred ill will, hostility in society and in particular against AAP, as well as supporters as also intending to create a situation of unrest.”
“In view thereof, it is forcefully submitted that in case any channel publishes/circulated aids or provide platform to disseminate the same we shall be found forced to take stringent legal action which shall include the commission of the offences of abetment/aiding him,” he had added.
Even after the massive violence in Punjab by Khalistan supporters, Delhi chief minister had not spoken explicitly that he will not let Khalistanis flourish and will take strict action against them.
