In the most recent progress in India’s Covid immunization programme, nearly 60% of children aged 12 to 14 have gotten their first dose of vaccine.

“Over 60% of kids in the 12-14 age group have received the first dose of #COVID19 vaccine,” Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on Saturday. Congratulations to all of my young pals who have received their vaccinations. We’re all so proud of you! Let’s keep this momentum going!

According to the provisional report, 5,84,25,991 first doses of the vaccine and 4,22,40,428 second doses have been delivered in the 15-18 year old age group as of 7 a.m. today.

On January 16, 2021, the countrywide COVID-19 vaccination programme began. On June 21, 2021, a new phase of COVID-19 immunization universalization began.

More vaccines have been made available, and States and UTs have been given advance notice of vaccine availability, allowing them to plan ahead of time and streamline the vaccine supply chain.

The Government of India has been delivering free COVID vaccines to States and Union Territories as part of a statewide vaccination campaign.

In a new phase of the COVID-19 immunisation drive’s universalization, the Union Government would procure and supply (at no cost) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccinations manufactured by vaccine makers in the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccine coverage has reached 188.89 crore (1,88,89,90,935) as of 7 a.m. today, according to the provisional data.
